Two motorbike riders have this week been charged for alleged excessive speeding on Melbourne freeways.
The first incident occurred on the Metropolitan Ring Road in Thomastown about 4.40pm on 14 April and saw a motorbike rider reach alleged speeds of 298km/h.
Following an investigation, police from the North West Metro Achilles Taskforce executed a warrant in Meadow Heights on Tuesday and arrested a 23-year-old man.
He was later charged with reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and drive in a manner dangerous.
He was bailed to appear before Heidelberg Magistrates' Court on 9 December.
Another man - who police allege reached speeds of 299km/h on Sunbury Road, Bulla about 11.10pm on 15 May - was arrested by the taskforce this week.
Police will also allege he reached speeds of 240km/h while performing a mono in the Burnley Tunnel just before 10pm on 2 May.
During a search of his Sunbury home on Wednesday, police also seized a red BMW motorcycle.
The 24-year-old man was charged with reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and drive at a speed dangerous.
He was bailed to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 2 December.
Anyone who witnesses dangerous motorbike riding in the act should call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
