Motorcyclist injured; driver charged with high range PCA - Busby

A man has been charged with high range drink driving after a motorcyclist was injured in a crash in south west Sydney yesterday.

About 6pm (Tuesday 26 October 2021), officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attended Busby Road, Busby, following reports of a collision between a blue Hyundai Lantra and a Yamaha R3 motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider, a 37-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital with a suspected broken pelvis.

A crime scene was established and examined by officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

The driver, a 45-year-old man, was breath tested at the scene, returning a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Green Valley Police Station where a subsequent breath analysis returned a reading of 0.171.

He was later conveyed to Liverpool Police Station and charged with high range PCA, cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle.

The man, from Hinchinbrook, was granted conditional bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 10 November 2021.
