Mount Isa Police Rescue Dogs From Industrial Fire

Mount Isa police are investigating the cause of an industrial fire at Duchess Road last week.

On September 12 at around 5:30pm, police were called to reports of a serious fire threatening nearby properties.

Emergency services attended and worked to extinguish the blaze, while two local constables began evacuating nearby residents.

The officers located two dogs at a property and carried them to safety before the fire intensified.

The dogs were returned to their owners, meanwhile the business suffered significant damage.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, investigations are continuing.
