Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital has announced the grand opening of its Comprehensive Health Program to serve patients on Manhattan's Upper West Side. This state-of-the-art service offers an extensive, personalized heart health assessment for early detection and prevention of heart disease, and takes place over the course of a single day.
This service is located at Mount Sinai West at 1000 Tenth Avenue. It is an extension of the Comprehensive Health Program at The Mount Sinai Hospital on Manhattan's Upper East Side and has the same offerings.
"Our award-winning physicians, technologically advanced equipment, and state-of-the-art facilities ensure that each patient receives the highest quality of care and personalized road map to best address their health needs," says Valentin Fuster, MD, PhD, President of Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital and Physician-in-Chief of The Mount Sinai Hospital, who leads this program.
The Comprehensive Program at Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital provides health assessments to identify major medical issues for all patients, along with employees from large corporations, business owners, and their employees. The goal is to identify possible areas of concern before significant disease develops.
The checkups entail a comprehensive blood analysis and an extensive cardiovascular health assessment. Patients receive a pain-free analysis including an electrocardiogram, exercise stress echocardiography test, peripheral vascular evaluation, carotid artery imaging, high-resolution imaging of the chest, and coronary artery calcium score and lipid profiling.
Patients will also undergo gastrointestinal and genitourinary evaluations including high-resolution imaging of the abdomen, kidneys, bladder, and pelvic organs; lab testing to assess renal function; and urinalysis. Men also receive prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and testosterone tests.
At the end of the exam, specialists will review the results of all tests, images, and consultations. Based upon the recommendations, next steps may include coordinating possible follow-up care or testing within the Mount Sinai network to ensure streamlined care.
"We offer a uniquely New York approach to health: quick, thorough, and high-touch care. In one efficient visit, patients receive the same top-tier, evidence-based testing—with results delivered at the pace New Yorkers expect," says Jeffrey Bander, MD, Chief of Cardiology at Mount Sinai West.
The Comprehensive Health Program is a self-pay bundled program and is not covered by insurance.
