Mountain Culture Tops Aussie Craft Beer Charts

Bennett PR
Mountain Culture's beloved Status Quo has won the GABS Hottest 100 and Australia's #1 craft beer title for the third year running!
In November, it was announced that Aussie Cricket Captain Pat Cummins became their first investor, so you can say it has paid off for him.
The battle of beers between nearly 400 of Australia's best craft breweries, in the 17th GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers poll, was fierce this year as around 55,000 consumers registered to cast their votes for their favourite beers of the year!

And cast they did, with nearly one thousand five hundred different beers being appreciated by voters and an incredible 70 different breweries making it on to the list.

AUSSIE CRICKET CAPTAIN PAT CUMMINS PART OF THE FIRST THREE-PEAT IN OVER A DECADE.

The Blue Mountains brewery, which recently announced Australian cricket hero Pat Cummins as an investor, dream came true as they matched an incredible feat which has only been achieved once before by Feral's Hop Hog in 2012-2014.

Some say that it may have something to do with the waters in Penrith where the brewery has expanded its production facilities. The city which has in recent times created serial winners, the one thing that all will agree on is that Mountain Culture's Status Quo is now one of the most iconic beers to be made in Australia

Taking out second place with the best performance Coopers Pale Ale. With over 150 years of making beer in South Australia, it's a wonderful result by Australia's oldest independent brewery. Completing the podium are two time previous champion and Gold Coast favourite, Balter's XPA.

The list is full of fantastic performances by breweries of all sizes with incredible representation from across the country. After yesterday's news that beer tax will increase again (weep) it was a welcome celebration of craft beer on saturday as beer taps flowed at GABS Hottest 100 countdown day parties held in venues, in every state, across the country. Passionate beer lovers gathered together to enjoy great beer, celebrating the innovative industry as one.

"The fans have spoken and it's no surprise Mountain Culture has taken the top spot as Australia's most loved craft brew, known for its juicy smooth and very easy drinking style, the Status Quo Pale ale is an easy-drinking craft beer in making it a delicious option year-round. To taste the Hottest 100 winners, beer lovers can head to our national First Choice Liquor Market stores where more than 90% of the beers can be found on our shelves across Australia. My own personal pick of the list is the Rocky Ridge Brewin Co Jinjong Juicy."
