AlburyCity and Wodonga Council are pleased to launch Live Albury Wodonga - our region's newest resident attraction initiative.
The Live Albury Wodonga brand is a Two Cities One Community project, designed to complement the existing brands, Visit and Invest Albury Wodonga. The project supports the attraction of new residents, further strengthening and diversifying the community and helping to attract skilled workers to the region.
Both councils recognise that the ongoing growth of our region will result in strong economies, improved cultural and social opportunities and increased vibrancy. Live Albury Wodonga highlights our lifestyle offering and further cements our reputation as an outstanding place in which to live and work.
A lower cost of living, reduced traffic congestion, strong career opportunities, work-life balance and dynamic arts, culture and leisure activities are the key drivers for metropolitan residents to relocate to regional cities such as Albury Wodonga. Both councils have seen a trend in residents relocating to the region to reduce their daily commute time and find a better work-life balance.
The Live Albury Wodonga website provides a centralised point of information and valuable resources for those considering moving to the region. The site allows visitors to search for employment opportunities, lifestyle, property, education and employment information. It also encompasses a Skills Board, which provides a free, ongoing advertising opportunity for the skills required to support economic activity across our community.
"Live Albury Wodonga is a fantastic way to bring both cities together to showcase all of the experiences and benefits that make our region one of the most liveable in Australia," said AlburyCity Mayor Kylie King.
"People move here for the connected location, career opportunities and support services but fall in love with the liveability and wonderfully diverse and culturally rich community."
Wodonga Mayor Kev Poulton said the program aimed to share everything that's good about living and working on the border to potential newcomers.
"All of us know that Albury Wodonga offers a terrific regional lifestyle for families with great opportunities to work and invest - and that's the message we want to share with those not yet lucky enough to live here," he said.
"We're excited by the opportunities to create sustainable, rewarding growth for both cities by welcoming new residents with the skillsets to make our community an even better place to live and work."
