Hobsons Bay's popular Movies by the Bay series returns again this January, with more free events for families to enjoy this summer.

Free screenings of family-friendly films will be held in beautiful outdoor locations around Hobsons Bay this January.

People are encouraged to bring a picnic rug and grab a bite to eat from local eateries before settling in for a night of fun-filled entertainment at the pop-up cinemas, enjoying some great films for free.

Williamstown's Commonwealth Reserve, Altona's Logan Reserve and Seabrook's Homestead Run Reserve will play host to the sessions that are presented by Hobsons Bay City Council.

Family-friendly films Runt, The Wild Robot and Inside Out 2 will be on show at the respective venues, and are suitable for everyone, from youngsters to adults.

A circus playspace and roving performers will provide entertainment from 6pm, before the movies start after sundown.

The events are free and suitable for all ages. Bookings are not required. Head to hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au/moviesbythebay
