Multiple armed robberies, Mackay and Townsville

Police have arrested two men in relation to multiple armed robbery and stolen vehicle offences allegedly committed between Sarina and Townsville earlier today (September 6).

Police will allege at 12.20pm, two men in a silver sedan approached a drive-through bottle shop on Broad Street, Sarina.

One man wearing a fishing mask exited the vehicle and allegedly threatened an employee with a tyre iron while demanding money.

The man allegedly took a sum of money and liquor before re-entering the sedan and driving away.

At approximately 3pm, two men approached the owner of a white Mitsubishi Triton while it was parked on the corner of Argyle Park Road and Duke Street, Bowen.

The men allegedly threatened the owner before entering the Triton and driving away.

About 4.20pm, a 30-year-old Woodridge man was arrested by police at a property at Salisbury Plains, while extensive investigations continued to locate the other alleged offender.

At 5.40pm at an address on the Bruce Highway at Cromarty, Burdekin, a man allegedly broke into a house and demanded the keys to the resident's vehicle.

The resident complied, and the man continued north along the Bruce Highway in the allegedly stolen blue Volkswagen Tiguan.

At 5.50pm, police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device at the Alligator Creek Bridge, Alligator Creek, stopping the allegedly stolen vehicle.

A 29-year-old Manoora man was arrested and transported to the Townsville watch house.

Investigations are continuing.
