Multiple Charges After Crash, Nerang

Police have charged a man following a single-vehicle traffic crash on Crusader Way, Nerang last night, July 17.

At approximately 11:34pm, police were called to reports of a Mazda 6 crashed into a fence near the intersection of Crusader Way and Centurion Crescent.

It is alleged that the driver left the scene on foot. Upon police arrival the male driver was located a short time after and taken into custody.

The 40-year-old Birtinya man has been charged with driving U.I.L, driving without a driver licence, driving without due care, possession of a knife, and possession of a restricted item (baton).

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, July 18.
