Kiama Council is thrilled to announce the winning local artists who will create two new stunning murals as part of Kiama Winter Festival next month. Additionally, we have an exciting line up of artists who will be part of an outdoor exhibition on our public bin shelters in Kiama and Jamberoo town centres.

Renowned Illawarra-based artist Janne Birkner (aka Krimsone) has been selected for the mural commission at the Joyce Wheatley Community Centre in Hindmarsh Park, central Kiama. Janne will be teaming up with the talented Scott Nagy to create an extraordinary mural that will become an art centrepiece for Kiama.

Jamberoo-based artist Claire Foxton has been chosen for the mural commission at the Old Ambulance Station on Terralong Street, Kiama. Claire's distinctive painting style will transform the blank brick wall into a visual masterpiece, complementing the exciting redevelopment of Hindmarsh Park.

We're keeping the concepts under wraps, so you'll have to wait and see the magic unfold over the next few weeks.

Council invites everyone in the Kiama community and beyond to come and watch Janne, Scott, and Claire bring their creative visions to life during the Kiama Winter Street Festival (12-14 July)

It's a live art experience not to be missed.

Art beyond the gallery – bin shelters

Kiama Council is exploring further innovative and creative ways to showcase local talent.

You'll soon notice art in unseen spaces such as our bin shelters across Kiama and Jamberoo.

There will be a total of 8 artworks installed on bin shelters across Jamberoo and Kiama.

Keep your eyes peeled for artworks from local talent including:
