Murder Charge Filed in Tanya Glover Case

Detectives from Hendra Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) and Crime and Intelligence Command, Homicide Investigation Unit have charged a woman in relation to the alleged 2010 murder of Tanya Lee Glover.

On December 7, 2022, a homicide investigation, Operation Pepperina, was launched in relation to the location of wrapped human remains located at an Alderley Avenue address, Alderley.

Following extensive forensic analysis, on August 2, 2023, the remains were confirmed to be Tanya Lee Glover.

On December 7, 2023, a $500,000 dollar reward was announced for any information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the person responsible for the alleged unlawful homicide.

Detectives remained committed to finding justice for Tanya, and it is the culmination of these extensive investigations that identified a person of interest, who police will allege was known to Tanya.

At about 8am this morning, March 28, detectives arrested a 61-year-old Wulguru woman from a Wulguru address.

Police will allege Tanya was murdered around January in 2010 and was subsequently moved into the void crawl space where her remains were later discovered. She would have been approximately 38-years-old at the time of her death.

Detectives will further allege a related fraud matter took place between January 2010 to December 2010.

The 61-year-old Wulguru woman has been charged with one count each of murder, misconduct with a corpse and fraud.

She is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow, March 29.

North Brisbane District Detective Inspector John Mison says a team of dedicated detectives were determined to find justice for Tanya.

"At the heart of this investigation, it was about uncovering what had happened to Tanya many years ago. She deserves that justice," Inspector Mison said.

"It is also a warning to any alleged offender that officers are relentless in their investigations to hold offenders to account for their crimes.

"We are not deterred by any timeframe gaps between an offence occurring and it being reported to police."

Police continue their appeal for information and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.

A $500,000 reward remains on offer for information that leads to the conviction of the person, or persons, found to be responsible for Tanya's murder. In addition to the reward, an appropriate indemnity from prosecution will be recommended for any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the crime, who first gives such information.
