Murrindindi Shire Celebrates Four New Citizens In July

Murrindindi Shire Council celebrated four new Australian Citizens on Tuesday 23 July at an official Citizenship Ceremony held at the Alexandra Council Chamber.

Shannon, Shintu, Jewel and Anna, have pledged their loyalty to Australia, its people, and its democratic beliefs, and to uphold and obey the laws of Australia and respect the rights and liberties of its people.

In attendance were distinguished guests including Murrindindi Shire Council Mayor Damien Gallagher, Acting CEO Michael Chesworth, Federal Member for Eildon Cindy McLeish MP, Bob Pearson – Alexandra RSL, Mary Pearson – Probus Club of Alexandra President and Sasha Barrow – Murrindindi Shire Citizen of the Year 2020 who were pleased to congratulate our newest Australians.

Council extends its warmest congratulations to all the conferees and wishes them all the best in their new journey as Australian Citizens.

Council will proudly host one more Citizenship Ceremony in 2024, on 22 October.
