Murrindindi Shire Council celebrated six new Australian Citizens on Tuesday 23 January at an official Citizenship Ceremony held at the Alexandra Council Chamber.
Clinton, Negin, Rajeshna, Alireza, Hector, and Catherine, have pledged their loyalty to Australia, its people, and its democratic beliefs, and to uphold and obey the laws of Australia and respect the rights and liberties of its people.
In attendance were distinguished guests including Murrindindi Shire Council Mayor Damien Gallagher, CEO Livia Bonazzi, Cindy McLeish MP, Gaelle Broad MP, Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell MP, Henry Andrews and Bob Benghamy from Alexandra RSL, and Sharon Fox from Rotary Club of Alexandra, who were pleased to congratulate our newest Australians. An apology was received from Aunty Angela ten Buuren, a respected Taungurung Elder.
Murrindindi Shire Council extends its warmest congratulations to all the conferees and wishes them all the best in their new journey as Australian Citizens.
Council will proudly host a further three Citizenship Ceremonies throughout 2024.
