Music Australia is excited to introduce the creation of More Than A One Night Stand Sessions, an extensive series of programs and events designed to support the return of triple j's highly anticipated One Night Stand, revealed today to be held in the coastal city of Warrnambool, Victoria.
Recognising the significance of the event's revival, Music Australia will assemble a range of music service organisations for the More Than A One Night Stand Sessions, to engage with the local community to deliver bespoke industry-training programs, panel sessions, songwriting workshops and an industry forum leading up to the event.
Youth music organisation The Push will guide a specialised All-Ages Events Team training program, offering invaluable hands-on experience to 15 young people from across the region, while CrewCare will conduct a tailored production crew training initiative, designed to upskill live music workers in audio, lighting, video, and stage management. Participants from both programs will culminate their training with the chance to work on the One Night Stand.
In collaboration with Warrnambool Council, the Live Music Office will deliver their signature Live and Local Program over 12 months that will assist the growth of live music in the community, by implementing sustainable best-practice live music strategies, better regulation and policy development and a series of Micro-Festival events.
The Association of Artist Managers will spotlight the crucial relationship that exists between an artist and their manager, through an intimate in conversation style discussion, with the Australian Independent Record Labels Association presenting a panel of record label representatives, sharing critical insights and career pathways.
Kennell&Co will engage and consult with First Nations communities across the region, and present a focused discussion panel, with two First Nations artists participating in a question-and-answer session, aimed at young and emerging artists.
APRA AMCOS will offer multiple songwriting and collaboration opportunities through their esteemed SongHubs Academy program, facilitated by seasoned industry professionals; the enriching SongCraft, featuring an in-depth and inspiring conversation with a high-profile songwriter; and the delivery of their Songmakers School Holiday Program, in partnership with the Victorian Government, scheduled for the September break.
As the peak body representing the Victorian music industry, Music Victoria and the Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO) will provide central communications and engagement between the More Than a One Night Stand Session Partners and the participating attendees, including the opportunity to sign up for valuable one–on-one meetings with key industry groups.
Central to the One Night Stand Session is the inaugural Music Expo to be held on site, providing attendees with a rare opportunity to discover and learn from over 12 key music industry peak bodies and support agencies, about the vital services they collectively deliver to the Australian music industry.

Expected to draw 10,000 attendees from across the country, the regional all-ages One Night Stand in Warrnambool is headlined by ARIA-Award winning artists G Flip and Ruel. The lineup also includes acclaimed Australian acts such as DJ and producer What So Not, Meanjin-born, Gamilaraay Woman Thelma Plum, First Nations singer, songwriter and producer Sycco, and WA breakthrough four-piece DICE. All ticket proceeds from One Night Stand will benefit Support Act, the Australian music industry charity.
