Muslims across Australia will welcome the holy month of Ramadan starting from the evening of Saturday, 1 March 2025. As a lunar month, the first day of Ramadan will be on Sunday, 2 March 2025.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, holds profound spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. It is a month dedicated to fasting, prayer, reflection, and community service.
This year, Ramadan arrives at a time when our communities are becoming increasingly polarised. In this context, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is hosting an Iftar Dinner on Sunday, 16 March 2025, bringing together leaders from various faiths and political backgrounds to break bread under one roof.
Imam Kamran Tahir of Adelaide's largest mosque, Mahmood Mosque, stated:
"We warmly invite everyone to join us for our annual Iftar dinner at Adelaide's largest mosque. Our motto, 'Love for all, hatred for none,' reflects our commitment to building relationships of trust, friendship, and respect across communities. This Iftar dinner serves as a meaningful way to achieve these objectives."
