NAB has today announced additional financial support for the Queensland and Northern New South Wales communities impacted by Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
$1,000 disaster relief grants have been activated for customers and colleagues who have been directly impacted by destructive weather. These grants offer immediate financial assistance to help with essential needs during this challenging time.
Additionally, the NAB Foundation has pledged a $200,000 donation to The Salvation Army to support emergency accommodation, food relief and recovery assistance for the hardest-hit communities.
NAB Group Executive Sharon Cook said the contribution is part of NAB and NAB Foundation's ongoing commitment to assist communities in times of need.
"In times of crisis, it's crucial that we rally together with our communities," Ms Cook said.
"This donation is just one way we're helping those who need it most right now. Our $1,000 disaster relief grants are also now available for any customers impacted by the cyclone.
"For someone who needs emergency accommodation or supplies, this can be a valuable lifeline to help get them back on their feet."
NAB has also offered additional support for long-term recovery efforts by launching a colleague giving campaign across the bank, matched dollar for dollar by the NAB Foundation.
"When disasters hit, it takes many hands to get communities back up on their feet ," Ms Cook said.
"We know our NAB colleagues want to get out there and volunteer, that's why we're on standby to assist Disaster Relief Australia with any potential recovery operation. These volunteers will provide much -needed assistance in affected areas when communities begin the recovery process."
