Bayside Council is once again presenting the 2024 Nancy Hillier OAM Memorial Lecture on Thursday 7 November in the Botany Town Hall.
The topic for this year's lecture is Women in Environmental Leadership and Advocacy and the event will feature an intergenerational panel discussion, highlighting how women from different generations have approached environmental issues with boldness and creativity.
The annual Nancy Hillier Memorial Lecture provides a forum to discuss major social and environmental issues from the perspective of campaigners, activists, community members, and researchers.
This year Council is hosting the event in partnership with Women's Environmental Leadership Australia, and the Environment and Society Group at University of New South Wales.
This free event honours Nancy Hillier's remarkable legacy as an advocate for Sydney's Botany Bay area, and brings together community members, environmental leaders, and changemakers to reflect on and reimagine impactful activism.
