Narellan: Learner, Provisional Riders Charged for Speeding

Two motorcyclists – a learner and a provisional licence holder – will face court next month charged with travelling in excess of the posted speed limit.

About 11.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 9 April 2025), officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command allegedly detected two motorcycles travelling northbound at 142km/h in a 60km/h zone along The Northern Road, Narellan.

Officers subsequently stopped and spoke with the male riders.

Both riders were issued with Field Court Attendance Notices for drive reckless/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.

The holder of the learner's rider licence – an 18-year-old man - was also charged with learner exceed speed > 45km/h – estimated.

A 17-year-old teenager and holder of the provisional rider licence was also charged with P1 driver exceed speed > 45 km/h – estimated.

Both males will appear at Picton Local Court on Thursday 22 May 2025.

A Notice of Suspension of licence privileges was also served upon the pair.
