Feet! It's probably not the first word that springs to mind when you think of diabetes. But every day an estimated 510,000 people in Australia are living with diabetes-related foot disease.
National Diabetes Feet Day reminds us to make feet our focus and educate about diabetes-related foot health and disease to help improve foot health outcomes for people living with diabetes.
Aligning with National Diabetes Feet Day, The Diabetes Health Network has released the updated Foot care for people with diabetes: Western Australia standards (PDF 1MB). These standards are designed to indicate best practice and to be challenging, yet realistically achievable within a 10-year timeframe across WA.
The WA Diabetes Health Network is focused on the delivery of culturally responsive, high quality, evidence-based services to improve foot care for people with diabetes across Western Australia.
