On the third day of the National Futsal Championships, spectators at Melbourne Sports Centre were treated to blockbuster matches across all age groups, setting up a mouth-watering last two days.
Football Queensland leads all comers in the AWD All-Abilities division; however, Football NSW Thunder closed the gap with a comfortable win over Football Victoria. Football SA maintains the fourth spot on the ladder after overcoming Football NSW Lightning.
Football NSW Lightning rose to third place in Group A of the Under 12 Boys, with a commanding 8-2 win over Football Tasmania, while Football Queensland continued their unbeaten run with a 7-1 victory over Capital Football.
In Group B, Football Victoria continued their impressive start by edging past Gold Fields Western Australia. Football NSW Thunder also dominated their cross-town opponents NSW Country 13-3.
Football Victoria defeated the previously undefeated Football Queensland 3-5 in the Under 13 Boys division today and followed this up with a 2-7 victory over Football SA. Gold Fields Western Australia defeated NSW Country, however, had to settle for a 3-3 draw when they came up against NSW Country later in the day. South Australia just got the better of Football SA 4-5, but fell to Football Victoria 2-7.
Football Queensland sits on top of the Under 13 Girls Group A after defeating Football SA 3-7. Football NSW is within touching distance of the group leaders after also winning against Capital Football 3-7.
Group B saw Football Victoria continue their winning ways top spot after easily accounting for Football NSW Lightning 5-0. Gold Fields Western Australia remain in second following their 5-3 win over NSW Country.
Football QLD maintained their perfect start in Under 14 Boys Group A, while Football SA got their first win for the tournament against Football Tasmania. Capital Football remains the only undefeated team in Group B with a win over Football NSW Lightning and second-placed Football Victoria defeated NSW Country 3-7.
Football NSW Thunder maintained top spot in the Under 15 Girls Group A after a narrow 3-0 win over Gold Fields Western Australia.
Football Victoria defeated Football SA and leapfrogged them into second place in Group B victory, while NSW Country defeated NSW Lightning by three goals.
Football Victoria remains the team to beat in the Under 15 Boys division after easing past Gold Fields Western Australia and drawing against Football Queensland put a mammoth 11 goals past Gold Fields Western Australia to sit in third place.
The deadlock continues in the Under 16 Boys with three unable to be split on 12 points.
NSW Metro was at its damaging best as they were able to defeat Football Victoria and Football Tasmania by seven goals.
