- Five days of elite cycling kicks off tomorrow with 2025 AusCycling Road National Championships
- Largest mass participation road cycling event in Australia
- Supported by Western Australian Government
Some of the nation's top cyclists have arrived in Western Australia this week as Perth welcomes Australia's premier road cycling competition, the AusCycling Road National Championships.
From 8-12 January, hundreds of elite cyclists will race across Bold Park, Kings Park, Northbridge, and the Perth CBD as part of the prestigious cycling event, which has been secured by the WA Government for the next three years.
The championships have not been held in WA for more than 27 years, and the 2025 event will be the first time the contest has been held outside of Victoria since 2007.
The championships are expected to attract up to 20,000 visitors to the State over the next three years, delivering millions of dollars into WA's economy while its international broadcast will showcase Perth as a world-class destination for global sporting events.
The championships include three events over the five action-packed days, including time trials, a criterium event (a bike race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit) and a road race.
Some of the biggest names in Australian and international cycling will join the action, including Amanda Spratt, Carol Cooke, Jai Hindley, Jay Vine, Luke Durbridge, Luke Plapp, and Ruby Roseman-Gannon.
