Hot on the heels of the huge Easter weekend featuring the Annual Rod Run, Narrandera is once again host to a motor vehicle group, from the other end of the motor vehicle spectrum.
This week Narrandera welcomes the amazing people and vehicles from the National 1- & 2-Cylinder Veteran Vehicle Cub visiting from across Australia.
Mayor Neville Kschenka greeted well over 100 participants at a special welcome function held in the CRC Hall on Sunday evening 8 May.
The National Club were presented with a donation from Council by Mayor Kschenka, to assist with event costs over the full week of activities. Director of the Veteran car Club Mr Robert Fordham said that the large group was very much looking forward to the week-long rally and thanked the Mayor and Council for the generous donation.
Around 80 remarkable vehicles featuring iconic names as Renault, De Dion Bouton, Maxwell, Triumph, Humber and more will participate in a daily district touring program commencing Monday 9 May and featuring runs to Leeton, Morundah, Ganmain and Yanco until final day on Friday 13 May.
"This is another fine example of how appealing Narrandera is for special events such as this," Mayor Kschenka said.
"Our district road systems are very attractive for touring visitors, and we look forward to welcoming more visitors to Narrandera Shire as the impacts of the pandemic recede."
