City of Playford's popular 10 for $10 native plant program returns this spring, giving locals the chance to green their backyards and properties with native vegetation.
The annual program, which provides 10 seedlings for just $10, is part of Council's commitment to increasing biodiversity across the city.
"Greener spaces deliver so many benefits to our community," said Mayor Glenn Docherty. "As well as improving our environment, there are health and wellbeing benefits too."
The $10 vouchers are redeemed for a box of 10 native seedlings at Provenance Indigenous Plants in Salisbury Park.
"We encourage residents to plant these seedlings in their yards and properties, giving everyone the chance to improve biodiversity across the city," the Mayor said.
"We understand the significance of plants and trees as essential natural assets. With this initiative, residents have the chance to enhance their own patch of Playford and actively contribute to growing our natural landscape."
Mayor Glenn Docherty said the 10 for $10 program typically receives an overwhelming response from the community, with vouchers selling out within a couple of days of release.
"I urge anyone interested in the program to act quickly to get a hold of this great offer."
Vouchers will be released for sale at 10am on Wednesday (30 August). They can be purchased online through Eventbriteor in-person from the customer service desk at the Playford Civic Centre in Elizabeth. Customers at the Civic Centre can pay with Eftpos or cash.
Vouchers can then be presented at Provenance Indigenous Plants, Salisbury Park from 02 September until 25 November. Provenance is open on the first Wednesday of every month and every Saturday between 9am and 4pm.
