City of Light residents and visitors can now enjoy a new nature-based playground at JH Abrahams Reserve.
Incorporating the existing landscape and elements of the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River), the adventurous playspace features a slide, rock scramble, balance logs, a basket swing, flying fox, parkour and a timber climbing platform.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the newly-constructed playground would be a place for residents, visitors, families and friends to meet and explore.
"Forever a popular picnicking and recreation reserve for local residents, we're excited to make the area even more inviting."
The area also features new bike racks, native trees, landscape plantings and stacked stone seating.
"The new playspace will uphold the vision of Perth as a great place to be, providing a safe, clean and attractive area for the community," City of Perth Deputy Lord Mayor Clyde Bevan said.
A Lotterywest grant of up to $189,500 went towards the playground construction to build a stronger sense of belonging, connection and participation for residents and visitors in the City of Perth.
The Grant was presented to the City of Perth by Dr Katrina Stratton MLA, Member for Nedlands.
Lotterywest is a Major Supporter of the JH Abrahams playground.
