Navy Ousts San Antonio Talent Acquisition Chief

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - The commanding officer of Navy Talent Acquisition Group San Antonio was relieved of her duties on Sept. 27, 2024, due to loss of confidence.

Rear Adm. James P. Waters, Commander, Navy Recruiting Command, relieved Cmdr. Stacey O'Neal as the commanding officer of NTAG San Antonio and she was reassigned to Naval Medical Forces Development Command at Joint Base San Antonio. Capt. Tommy L. Edgeworth, Deputy Commander, Navy Recruiting Region West, has temporarily assumed command.

The Navy remains committed to supporting its personnel and ensuring the success of NTAG San Antonio's mission.

The change in leadership will not impact NTAG San Antonio's mission to attract the highest caliber of talent to serve in the U.S. Navy. NTAG San Antonio's area of responsibility includes more than 30 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations dispersed across 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas.

Navy Recruiting Command consists of a command headquarters, two Navy Recruiting Regions, and 26 NTAGs that serve more than 815 recruiting stations across the world. Their combined goal is to attract the highest quality candidates to assure the ongoing success of America's Navy.
