February 2025 update
It's an exciting start to the new year, with over 30 new NESP projects planned to begin in 2025!
The new projects will continue to build our understanding of how best to tackle Australia's key environmental challenges.
One of the projects - from the Marine and Coastal Hub - will bring new data and monitoring to the crown-of-thorns starfish control program. Coral-eating crown-of-thorns starfish are a major threat to the Great Barrier Reef. The project will enable early detection of crown-of-thorns outbreaks and improve our ability to better target early management actions.
