South East Queensland (SEQ) Netball Association has proudly recognised the continued support of long-term sponsor Mates4Mates, presenting the organisation with a framed team jersey after another standout year on the court.
The jersey, specially designed with a custom Indigenous artwork, symbolises the deep cultural roots and natural beauty of the south-east Queensland region.
The design pays tribute to Country and the enduring connection between people and place, something both SEQ Netball and Mates4Mates value deeply.
SEQ Netball committee members Corporal Sarah Munro and Private Cassandra Lally presented the jersey to representatives from Mates4Mates at a recent gathering, acknowledging their support and the shared values that strengthen their partnership.
"Netball in south-east Queensland has always been more than just sport. It's about teamwork, connection and showing up for one another. That's exactly what Mates4Mates stands for," Corporal Munro said.
"Their ongoing support has helped us build a strong, united team culture, and we wanted to show our gratitude in a meaningful way."
SEQ Netball's 2024 campaign was another success story in the association's growing legacy.
The men's team dominated their division at the Combined Services Netball Tournament, finishing undefeated for the third year in a row.
'Their ongoing support has helped us build a strong, united team culture, and we wanted to show our gratitude in a meaningful way.'
The women's side also had a strong showing, securing third place and narrowly missing a spot in the grand final.
With the mixed team consistently placing in the top three over recent years, SEQ continues to cement itself as a powerhouse in the ADF Netball arena.
SEQ Netball president Corporal Hayley Tillman said the state's success was a reflection of the effort the players, coaches and volunteers put in year-round.
"But it's also a testament to the strength of the relationships we've built, on and off the court. That includes the incredible support we receive from Mates4Mates," Corporal Tillman said.
"SEQ Netball embodies the values of resilience, mateship and shared purpose. In such a tight-knit sporting community, partnerships with like-minded organisations like Mates4Mates are especially meaningful.
"Our previous committee instilled a high level of leadership and camaraderie, which the teams thrive upon, whether it's backing each other during a tough game or helping one another through life's challenges, that spirit of standing beside your mates is what makes SEQ Netball special."
As the association looks toward the 2025 season, they do so with the momentum of success and the strength of supportive partnerships.
For SEQ Netball, the future looks bright, both on the scoreboard and within the community they continue to build, one game, and one mate, at a time.
