The peak employer association Ai Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Jodie van Deventer as its new State Head for South Australia.
Jodie moves into this important industry role following the retirement of Ai Group's SA Head, Stephen Myatt, after almost 40 years of service with Ai Group and its predecessor organisations.
Ai Group Chief Executive, Innes Willox, said: "Jodie is an outstanding appointment, with her most recent role being CEO of the Committee for Adelaide. She has had a diverse and interesting career starting work as a journalist with the Adelaide Advertiser and then moving to the BBC in the UK. On returning home to Adelaide, she worked in a number of communications and advocacy roles including with the Australian Hotels Association and the SA Tourism Commission. She later ran her own PR and Communications business representing a diverse range of clients.
"Jodie will be an important advocate for SA employers as the state emerges from the impacts of COVID-19. She is well equipped to ensure Ai Group member views and interests are heard at the highest levels of government and by all sides of politics which will be critically important in the lead up to the state election next year.
"Stephen Myatt leaves the role after a long and successful career representing industry interests in SA as well as in Canberra and Sydney. Stephen has worked with 17 Ai Group branch presidents in South Australia, which is quite a feat. He has also been a long-time board member of our Apprentice and Training Centre.
"In all his roles, Stephen has always displayed a tremendous commitment to our members' interests, working constructively with governments of all types and looking out for the welfare of our staff. We wish him well for the future," Mr Willox said.
