Mitchell Shire Council is pleased to announce the completion of the new school bus stop in High Street, Pyalong.
This project, aimed at improving safety and comfort for the growing number of children using the bus services, has been successfully completed following community consultation.
The formal bus stop with shelter replaces the informal stops previously used, offering improved protection from wind, rain, and heat.
Serving four bus routes that transport students to Broadford Secondary College, St Patrick's Primary School, and Seymour College, the new bus stop is strategically located in High Street, adjacent to Pyalong Town Centre Park.
This central location meets the needs of the community and streamlines bus operations to a single, safer point.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Councillor Louise Bannister praised the community for their input and support throughout the project.
"This new bus shelter is one of many projects delivered by Council that help to meet the evolving needs of our towns," she said.
"By centralising the bus stops, we have significantly improved safety and convenience for our children and families.
"Council worked closely with the local community and Public Transport Victoria on this project to ensure the best outcome for Pyalong residents."
The $35,000 project was fully funded by the Council.
