New Business Advice Platform On Way

Tasmanian Government

Small to medium Tasmanian businesses are set to benefit from a new online business advice platform, due for release in mid-2025.

BDO will design and deliver the platform, which will enable businesses to access self-guided, tailored resources and information 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Minister for Hospitality and Small Business, Jane Howlett, said the new online platform would add to the existing range of support provided to the business sector.

"Tasmanian businesses spend so much time working in their business that it can be hard to find time to work on them, so we're making that easier," Minister Howlett said.

"The online platform will provide relevant tools and templates across the range of business and continuity planning stages, as well as relevant information on events, workshops and funding opportunities matched to the individual business and its circumstances.

"The new platform will enable businesses to create a secure, individual client dashboard with curated content provided directly to them after they complete an initial needs assessment questionnaire.

"Importantly, the platform will securely store important documents such as business plans and cashflow projections which the business and their support team, such as advisors and accountants, can access anywhere, anytime.

"It will save significant time and effort which we know is so important for Tasmanian businesses."

A big part of the Tasmanian Government's 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future is making it easier for businesses to thrive by slashing red tape and backing in jobs.

These actions ensure Tasmanian businesses can have the confidence they need to grow.
