- Emergency Services precinct at Caloundra South nearing completion

The new emergency services precinct at Caloundra South is in the final stages of construction and is expected to be completed in the coming months.
Minister for Police and Community Safety, Mark Ryan MP today joined local MP, Jason Hunt MP and Assistant Commissioner Glenn Morris for a tour of the new facility and for an update on construction.
The precinct, near the new Bells Creek Arterial Road, will include a brand new 24-hour Caloundra South Police Station with an Approved Police Strength of 30 officers.
In readiness for the new Station, some of these new officers have already been delivered and are currently hosted at the nearby Caloundra Police Station.
Commissioning of the new Caloundra South Police Station is expected, on schedule, in August 2024.
In addition to general-duty first response officers, the $13.5 million station will also be home to district and other police support functions, including plain-clothes detectives from the Child Protection Investigation Unit and the Criminal Investigation Branch.
Caloundra South is also the location of an additional facility, with the Miles Government providing $15 million in funding towards building a new Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) facility as part of Queensland's Community Safety Plan.
While the location of the new PCYC is currently subject to further consultation with key stakeholders, work on the concept and design plans is already underway with the first glimpse of the PCYC designs being unveiled today.

"This investment from the Queensland Government for this new facility will allow PCYC Queensland to support building safer, healthier communities through youth development in the Sunshine Coast region.
"The new facility will offer opportunities for young people from birth into adulthood, through activities such as Playtime and Little N Active for under 5's - through to sporting activities such as Gymnastics. Along with our range of youth programs such as dropin and after dark sporting activities a community gym and multipurpose spaces- this centre will truly cater for the community.
