Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have released new CCTV as they continue to investigate a fatal crash in Roxburgh Park last month.
Emergency services responded to a crash on Bridgewater Road about 2.40am on Monday, 23 December.
Police were told a red Kia Cerato crashed into a tree and burst into flames.
The driver, 33-year-old Faris Owraha from Roxburgh Park, sadly died at the scene.
It's believed a black 2007-2012 Toyota Corolla Ascent sport hatch crashed into the Kia while it was unoccupied and parked in Neptune Street before driving off about 2.35am.
It's believed the Kia's owner became aware of the minor hit-run and got into his car and followed the Toyota.
A second collision between the Kia and Toyota is believed to have occurred a short time later on Bridgewater Road, which resulted in the Kia hitting the tree.
The Toyota fled the scene.
New vision has been released of a Toyota Corolla Ascent and the Kia Cerato prior to the fatal crash, in the hope it will assist investigators with their enquiries.
Investigators believe the Toyota Corolla sustained damage to the rear bumper during the incident.
Major Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for the driver of the Toyota to come forward or anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or anonymously at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
