New Centre To Support Young Families In Melton

VIC Premier

Shovels are in the ground to build a new community centre in Melton which will provide families in Melbourne's growing west with parenting support programs and facilities thanks to support from the Allan Labor Government.

Minister for Suburbs Sonya Kilkenny and the Member for Sydenham Natalie Hutchins visited Fraser Rise to celebrate the start of works on the Plumpton Community Centre and Neighbourhood House, jointly funded by the Labor Government and Melton City Council.

The new centre will provide families with three and four-year-old kindergarten services to support young families in the growing suburb.

Families will also have access to parenting support programs, playgroups, breastfeeding support, immunisations and a range of community programs and activities.

The Labor Government have contributed $10.5 million to building Plumpton Community Centre and Neighbourhood House through the Growing Suburbs Fund and Building Blocks Infrastructure Program.

The Growing Suburbs Fund represents a $440 million Labor Government investment over 10 years and to date has provided more than $1.3 billion of critical local infrastructure in our fastest-growing suburbs.
