New CEO For Aboriginal Investment NT

Mr Nigel Browne has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Aboriginal Investment NT for a term of five years.

A descendant of the Larrakia and Wulna people, Mr Browne brings a wealth of leadership experience to the role.

He has been CEO of the Larrakia Development Corporation since 2013 and is a Director on the Board of the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation.

Mr Browne has also held board positions with various government and industry boards and committees. His earlier professional roles include Crown Prosecutor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Northern Territory and Solicitor at Department of Justice NT.

In 2011, Mr Browne was announced the National Indigenous Legal Professional of the Year, in recognition of his advocacy, representation and contribution to Larrakia people.

Under Mr Browne's leadership, Aboriginal Investment NT will continue its unique role as an investor and advocate for Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory to drive economic prosperity and build collective wealth for future generations.

Designed by Aboriginal people to enable Aboriginal-led investment and deployment of capital, Aboriginal Investment NT seeks to grow the resources and power of Aboriginal people living in the Territory through innovative approaches to grants and investment.

Mr Browne's appointment to Aboriginal Investment NT follows a competitive recruitment process conducted by the Board.
