New Chair Appointed To Aurora Energy Board

Mr Trevor Danos has appointed been as Aurora Energy's new chair.

Minister for Energy and Renewables, Nick Duigan congratulated Mr Danos on his appointment as Chair of the Aurora Energy Board.

"Mr Danos brings valuable experience from a wide range of corporate and governance role to the Board of Aurora Energy," Minister Duigan said.

Mr Danos is a highly respected commercial lawyer, company director, and strategic advisor.

He brings experience in managing electricity and regulated businesses, the energy transition, finance, infrastructure and social innovation.

"At a time where cost of living is at the forefront of many Tasmanians minds, ensuring our energy businesses are well run and continue to deliver the lowest possible prices for Tasmanians is a top priority for our Government," Minister Duigan said.

"I look forward to working with Mr Danos in his new role as the chair of Aurora Energy."

Minister Duigan thanked Board Director and acting Chair, Keryn Nylander, who has capably steered the business while recruitment for the chair was undertaken.

A cornerstone of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future is ensuring to deliver the lowest possible power prices for Tasmanians and strong leadership in Aurora Energy will help to deliver this.

Mr Danos will commence immediately.
