The CLP Government is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Patrick Bellot as the new Chair of the Darwin Waterfront Corporation (DWC).
Mr Bellot succeeds Richard Fejo, who resigned as Chairman in November. Additionally, Ms Suzana Bishop, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, joins the Board, following the recent machinery of government changes, replacing Andrew Kirkman.
Mr Bellot brings over two decades of expertise in facility management and property development, with extensive experience in the Northern Territory, Western Australia, and Queensland. His leadership roles, including his position as President of the Property Council's NT Division and extended association with Venture Housing, demonstrates his commitment to driving economic and community development in the Territory.
"It's an honour to lead the Darwin Waterfront Corporation at this time of change," said Mr Bellot.
"The Darwin Waterfront is a vital precinct for the city and the broader Top End. My focus will be on delivering key development projects, through the Darwin Waterfront Masterplan, which will enhance the precinct's reputation, utilisation and capacity to attract major business events and tourism visitors."
Ms Bishop's non-remunerated appointment as CEO of Department of Tourism & Hospitality further strengthens the Board's capability. With over 20 years of experience in the tourism and events industry, she brings valuable insights to the Corporation.
Minister for Tourism & Hospitality Marie-Clare Boothby is confident about both appointments and highlighted their strategic importance.
"Patrick's extensive experience in property development and his passion for the Territory make him the ideal Chair to lead the DWC during this pivotal time. With Ms Bishop joining the Board, we are well-positioned to deliver on the Darwin Waterfront's ambitious vision," she said.
"Under the leadership of Mr Bellot and with the support of a dynamic Board, the Darwin Waterfront Corporation will continue its mission to transform the precinct into a thriving, world-class destination for all Territorians and visitors."
