New Charges Filed in Blayney DV Incident, Armed Robbery

Further charges have been laid following an investigation into alleged domestic violence-related offences and an armed robbery in the Central West at the weekend.

Police will allege in court a man threatened a woman with a firearm while they were travelling through Blayney about 9.30pm last Saturday (6 July 2024).

The man left the vehicle a short time later and joined two other men in a silver sedan.

About 10.30pm, the sedan was allegedly used during a robbery at Blayney Rotary Lookout where a 19-year-old man and 18-year-old woman told police they were threatened by three men armed with a firearm and machete. The three men drove from the scene a short time later, taking a number of the couples' possessions.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding both incidents.

Two men have since been charged over the incidents this week and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, about 2pm yesterday (Wednesday 10 July 2024), a 23-year-old man attended Lithgow Police Station where he was arrested.

He was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon and was refused bail to appear at Lithgow Local Court today (Thursday 11 July 2024).
