Councillor Natalie Willcocks has been elected as Deputy Mayor of the City of Logan for the next year.
A vote by Councillors was necessary at today's Ordinary Council meeting due to the expiry of Cr Jon Raven's second one-year term as Deputy Mayor under the Local Government Act.
Cr Willcocks said she had enjoyed working with Mayor Darren Power and her Council colleagues since first being elected as Division 11 Councillor in 2020 and was eager to gain more leadership experience.
"I have learnt a lot and have appreciated the knowledge and skills everyone has shared since I became a Councillor," Cr Willcocks said.
"I look forward to working with everyone at Logan City Council and across the community over the next 12 months in this exciting new role."
Cr Power congratulated Cr Willcocks on her appointment and thanked Cr Raven for his two years of service in the role.
The appointment is effective immediately.
