Wyndham City Council is seeking your feedback on its roadmap for the next for the next four years.
The roadmap encompasses four key strategic documents:
- Draft Council Plan 2025-20
- 2025/26 Draft Annual Budget
- Draft Asset Plan
- Draft Long-Term Financial Plan
The Draft Council Plan, incorporating the Public Health and Wellbeing Plan, sets out projects and programs that respond to community feedback and help make Wyndham a great place to live.
The Public Health and Wellbeing Plan examines the health and wellbeing challenges facing Wyndham and how Council can support the community to be at their best physically and mentally.
The 2025-26 Draft Annual Plan and Budget outlines in detail the projects, programs and services we will fund next financial year.
Financial sustainability is one of the greatest challenges for Wyndham and local government generally with the State Government's rate capping policy, now in its ninth year.
In our proposed Asset Plan, Wyndham City's sophisticated analysis of the assets it owns, including roads, facilities and playground equipment, and the cost of maintaining them, is outlined.
Council has also proposed a 10-year projection of how it will manage finances in its 10-year Financial Management Plan.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said: "These important documents ensure we maintain a financial position that allows us to deliver on our priorities - now and into the future."
"We want Wyndham to continue to be a great place to live and we want to deliver value for money in everything we do."
"Financial sustainability is one of the greatest challenges for Wyndham and local government generally with the State Government's rate capping policy now in its ninth year."
"If we are going to maintain our City as a great place to live, we need detailed long-term planning that is clear about the trade-offs we're prepared to make as a community."
"All of this work will drive our commitment to returning our underlying operational budget to a breakeven position within our Council term - that means, like you, we will not be spending more money than we collect."
"Wyndham remains the fastest growing municipality in Australia. While we are grateful for the funding contributions we've received from the State and Federal Governments we will increasingly rely on these partnerships over the coming years to continue to provide vital community infrastructure and essential services."
"We are also proud to deliver a proposed $165 million Capital Works program across 69 services in our Draft Budget. This will include $81.6 million on roads and footpaths and $20.8 million on open spaces."
"This money will deliver on projects our community has told us are important to them - improved roads and connections across our city, upgraded open spaces and initiatives that address community safety."
"Importantly, we are taking a four-year strategic view to the way we spend our Budget and will be also seeking your feedback on the strategies that underpin our approach."
Residents can provide their feedback online via The Loop or can attend any of our Pop-Up events and have a chat with Councillors and Council Officers. Public Exhibition will take place between Wednesday 23 April until Tuesday 20 May. Feedback will be considered prior to Council adopting the Annual Plan and Budget at its June Council Meeting.
