Latrobe City Council is proud to announce its new Councillors following the commencement of their term that was conducted this afternoon.
The new Councillors for the 2024 - 2028 term are:
- Boola Boola Ward: Councillor David Barnes
- Budgeree Ward: Councillor Leanne Potter
- Jeeralang Ward: Councillor Joanne Campbell
- Loy Yang Ward: Councillor Dale Harriman
- Morwell River Ward: Councillor Tracie Lund
- Moe Ward: Councillor Adele Pugsley
- Newborough Ward: Councillor Sharon Gibson
- Tyers Ward: Councillor Darren Howe
- Yallourn Ward: Councillor Steph Morgan
Councillors were elected to represent the community from the nine Ward electoral structure that commenced in October 2024.
Latrobe City Council's Chief Executive Officer Steven Piasente was honoured to introduce the new Council.
"I am privileged to welcome our new Councillors for the 2024-2028 term. Our community has demonstrated their faith in each Councillor to serve and work in partnership with our community.
"I, along with Council's Executive and staff, look forward to working with our new Councillors as we drive toward a sustainable and economically diverse future for generations to come," said Mr Piasente.
Council will meet on Monday 25 November to elect a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Like most Victorian councils, Latrobe City Council does not have a direct mayoral vote system and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor roles will be voted on by Councillors.
