New, COVID-19 Support Grants of up to $10,000 available

Grants of up to $10,000 are now available for community organisations so they can continue to provide services and support to vulnerable South Australians during this unprecedented time – and the Marshall Liberal Government is urging non-for-profits to apply.

A total of $3.35 million has been committed towards COVID-19 Support Grants as part of the Marshall Liberal Government's strong response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Funding will be prioritised to support organisations who provide services to vulnerable and disadvantaged South Australians in response to COVID-19.

Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink urged community organisations to apply for the grants.

"We know many South Australians are hurting right now and in times like these, the community often turns to not-for-profit organisations for extra support," said Minister Lensink.

"The COVID-19 Support Grants of up to $10,000 will mean our community organisations can continue to operate, adapting their existing programs or providing new programs and services to meet the needs of all South Australians, in particular our most vulnerable.

"Examples of eligible ways organisations can use their funding include items like IT equipment and software to enable staff and volunteers to work from home, personal protection equipment and website upgrades.

"The grants will be available for an initial six-month period and I really encourage any organisation that is eligible and providing important programs and services to South Australians at this time to apply."

The COVID-19 Support Grants temporarily replaces the regular Grants SA program, recognising community need at this time.

Applications are now open and close on October 30, 2020. For more information or to apply visit: www.dhs.sa.gov.au/grantssa
