The Hub will allow the Australian Government to share critical data and insights. These will enable governments, researchers and individuals to make informed decisions based on a range of national datasets developed in cooperation with state and territory agencies.
The data will be used to better inform policy decisions and funding allocations under the Road Safety Program.
The data includes information about fatalities, hospitalisations, police enforcement and analysis of crash risk.
The Hub also integrates links to a number of other road safety government websites and includes a submission form for public feedback.
In the 2023-24 Federal Budget, the government committed $21 million to ensure the Hub can be used effectively by everyone, including decision makers, and will continue the work of harmonising the important data provided by state and territories.
Developed by the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics and the Office of Road Safety, the Hub will also be invaluable to researchers and the public, helping to deliver safer roads across the country.
