A trio of international dishes are set to make a special appearance on Healthy Food Co. shelves, recruiting street food and iconic global recipes to create balanced, low-cost and easy family dinners.

Healthy Food Co. will offer in-store only Easy Meal kits featuring okonomiyaki, African chicken peanut stew, inspired by the traditional West African dish Maafe and the classic meatloaf.

Japanese street food favourite, okonomiyaki, is a savoury pancake filled with cabbage and a mix of vegetables or meat of your choice.

Mayor Glenn Docherty said it's important to refresh our Easy Meals product line by introducing new items for our customers when they browse our stores.

"We have our classic range of Easy Meals - these are tried-and-true favourites for our loyal customers, but we try to keep our range fresh and exciting with new and limited-edition kits, adding something different to weeknight meals," said the Mayor.

"For almost thirty years Healthy Food Co. has been on a mission to show that balanced, home-cooked meals don't need to be costly, challenging to prepare or take forever to get to the dinner table. Our Easy Meal kits help you stay on budget and eat well too."

Playford is proudly a culturally diverse community, with various examples of delicious cuisine from around the world appearing at small community gatherings or being served in local eateries.

"These dishes were inspired by our growing multicultural community, who bring with them delicious dishes and authentic recipes for us to experience," said the Mayor.

The new Easy Meal kits will be available in store from this week. Healthy Food Co stores are located on Hamblynn Rd, Elizabeth Downs and Coventry Road, Smithfield Plains.
