Four tourism operators across the Northern Territory are creating new evening experiences for visitors, to enhance their attractions and encourage more tourists to visit the NT.
The Adelaide River Inn and Daly Waters Pub will be creating outdoor cinemas, to encourage families to stay longer, while the Katherine Outback Experience will develop a family friendly evening outdoor dining experience.
In Alice Springs, Red Centre Adventures NT will create a new evening cycling tour to Simpsons Gap, with special tours conducted on full moons.
Each operator will receive $7,000 from the Tourism Evening Experience grant program, which aims to increase the length of stay for tourists, and support our regional operators.
This is the second round of the program, the first round saw $170,000 awarded to 14 tourism operators to develop evening experiences, which included twilight tours at the Women's Museum of Australia in Alice Springs and Sunset Yoga with Gorge View in Katherine.
The new evening experiences at Adelaide River Inn, Daly Waters Pub, Katherine Outback Experiences and Red Centre Adventures NT will all be operation by the end of April 2023, and will be available to book in the coming months.
Quotes from Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Nicole Manison:
"These new evening experiences enhance our tourism offerings in the NT, which in turn helps to generate positive reviews and attract more visitors to explore our regions.
Alice Springs is renowned for its world class mountain biking trails and epic night skies so I'm sure Red Centre Adventures NT's new evening cycling tours will be a popular activity with visitors and local residents.
It's important all our regions have unique tourism opportunities, to create well-paying jobs for locals and allow tourists to explore parts of the Territory they may not have considered before. "
