New Exhibition Opens At CitiPower Centre

Cricket Victoria is pleased to launch its latest historical exhibition titled 'A peek into our archives' showcasing more than 100 years of unique memorabilia and artefacts kept in Cricket Victoria's collection since the late 1800s.

Opening now and running through to May 31st, the exhibition spans the earliest meetings of the former Victorian Cricket Association (VCA), to contemporary memorabilia from more recent times.

The exhibition includes:

  • Original minute books from the earliest Annual meetings of the organisation - then held at Young and Jackson Hotel on Flinders Street.
  • Photos of Sheffield Shield teams from the early 1920s.
  • Stumps used by Melbourne Tramways Board staff for intercompany matches in the 1930s.
  • Original insurance policies for Jack Blackham, who played in the first Test match at the MCG in 1877.

The collection is part of an important historical record of Victorian cricket and includes names and faces that continue to be part of the fabric of the game. Exhibition Details:
