Labor is making it easier for families in Bendigo to get involved in sport, close to home.
The Victorian Budget 2026/27 includes up to $3 million for a female friendly pavilion at White Hills Oval.
It means the Football, Netball and Cricket Clubs can look forward to celebrating the big wins under the one roof.
With more families moving into Bendigo suburbs like White Hills, there's strong demand for sport facilities to cater for that growth.
The pavilion revamp will relieve pressure on existing facilities and provide a modern and welcoming space for everyone, including more women and girls.
The project includes upgrades to the kitchen, spectator shelter, change room and other amenities.
It will support Australian rules football, cricket, netball and the broader community.
Together the upgrades mean local clubs have far greater opportunities to host more teams, training and matches.
The Victorian Budget 2026/27 is providing $24 million to support the development of high-quality, accessible community sports infrastructure across the state, including through the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
It's part of more than $2.4 billion the Victorian Government has invested in community sport and active recreation infrastructure.
Greater Bendigo City Council is acknowledged for its commitment and financial contribution to the project.
As stated by Premier and Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan
"We are backing the Hillies with the infrastructure they need to get more families involved in sport."
"It will mean more games, more participation and more opportunities for players, families and the community."
As stated by Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence
"Better sport and recreation facilities make it easier for communities like White Hills to enjoy their local sport and recreation and lead healthy and active lifestyles."
