Councils Seeks Interest for New Hotel Development in Shell Cove
A block of undeveloped Council land adjacent to The Links Golf Course, is proposed to be the new home of Shellharbour City's newest hotel.
At Tuesday night's Council meeting, Shellharbour City Council voted to seek Expressions of Interest (EOI) from hotel developers for Lot 1 DP 1098888, Golf Drive, Shell Cove.
Due to the significant community value and high profile of the project, Council was also informed of the request for quote process and the contract awarded for Hotel Consultancy Services for the proposed Links Hotel Development.

A 2024 feasibility study identified a potential hotel could consider the following elements:
- 150 rooms
- Option for a restaurant and bar
- Option for a wellness centre and gymnasium
- Meeting and events space
- Dedicated hotel parking
It is expected the design will be refined through the development process with Concept Design Plan available through the EOI.
Shellharbour Mayor Chris Homer said the proposed hotel could bring major benefits to the community.
"We have been exploring the potential of a hotel on the land near The Links Golf Course. It's a strategic location that should increase the supply of short-term overnight accommodation, especially near the future Shellharbour Hospital, The Links and nearby tourist attractions," he said.
"As Shellharbour City continues to grow, Council remains committed to planning for the future.
"Shellharbour continues to look to create fresh opportunities for tourism, business and the local community."
