New initiative making it easier to get active

Council has partnered with the Office of Sport and Sport Central Coast to develop an exciting new initiative called Activate Central Coast to encourage our community to participate in sport and active recreation whilst also supporting local sport and active recreation clubs and associations.

This initiative will be launching The Sports Hub in April to offer a new comprehensive online directory to showcase the region's variety of sport and active recreation opportunities and make it easy for the community to find something that suits their needs, abilities and interests.

There are already over 100 local sports and active recreation providers participating which cover a wide range of activities including; Aerobics, Athletics, Aussie Rules, Archery, Basketball, Circus, Cricket, Croquet, Cycling, Dancing, Dragon Boating, Floorball, Football, Golf, Lawn Bowls, Martial Arts, Netball, Orienteering, Oztag, Running, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Shooting, Softball, Surfing, Swimming, Tennis, Walking, Water Polo, Yoga and more.

The Sports Hub is a user-friendly site allowing users to quickly search for activities by location and interests and filter by categories such as age group suitability, activities that are accessible and inclusive and providers that accept Active Kids Vouchers.

As part of the Activate Central Coast initiative, local sport and active recreation providers will collaborate with Activate Central Coasts' partners to promote Come and Try Activities and exciting programs and events for the community throughout the year. These will be announced on Sports Hub as details are confirmed.
