The Australian Government's specialist agricultural research-for-development agency has advertised two new senior research vacancies in its research program.
These are exciting opportunities for experienced senior research leaders to further develop established research programs in Agribusiness and Social Systems.
Applications are now open and will close 15 December 2022.
ACIAR Chief Scientist Dr Daniel Walker said these rewarding roles can enrich lives and livelihoods of rural communities in the Indo-Pacific region through research insights.
'The Social Systems Research Program Manager will be responsible for commissioning and co-developing a diverse portfolio of social research projects, advising other programs on social science dimensions and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including national and regional policy makers.
'The Agribusiness Research Program Manager will be responsible for commissioning and managing a portfolio of research-for-development projects, engaging with a range of private and public sector market actors and civil society groups to better support smallholder producers and traders,' said Dr Walker.
'I encourage senior research leaders and industry experts from across Australia's research and development industries to apply,' Dr Walker added.
Reporting directly to the ACIAR Chief Scientist, the positions are non-ongoing for up to 5 years, with the possibility of extension. The Canberra-based positions will undertake extensive international and domestic travel across the Indo-Pacific. Applicants must be Australian Citizens.
