- Work has begun on the Dordaak Kepap - Library and Youth Innovation Hub project
- Cook Government contributes $6 million to the $17.6 million total cost
- The state-of-the-art project will provide a wide range of facilities for the local community
Construction is underway on the new Dordaak Kepap - Library and Youth Innovation Hub project in Landsdale, the result of a $6 million investment by the Cook Government towards the total cost of $17.6 million.
The $6 million funding from the State Government and a $11.6 million commitment by the City of Wanneroo will see the new development being built on The Broadview, near the Landsdale Forum shopping mall.
The library will feature multi-functional spaces, meeting rooms with audio-visual capabilities, study spaces and a children's activity area.
The Youth Innovation Hub will feature:
- recording studio for music and podcasting;
- gaming and virtual reality room;
- multi-functional spaces for performance, events or education programs;
- kitchen for cooking, education programs or demonstration events;
- space for robotics and coding;
- access to computers for design learning;
- access to programs for audio and video production; and
- meeting rooms and chill out spaces.
Construction and commissioning are expected to be completed by late next year.
